We have lots to celebrate this month. The Class of 2026 is headed off to play college field hockey across Divisions I, II, and III, in places like MIT, Indiana, and even St. Andrews (in Scotland!). We couldn't be more excited to cheer them on this fall.
We're also celebrating Stick Together's birthday. Since the first issue landed in a handful of inboxes one year ago today, we've grown our readership every month and built something that is starting to feel like a real home for Northern California field hockey.
It's fitting that our anniversary falls just after Cal Cup, the tournament that kicks off the summer and truly brings together the all-ages field hockey family. We're deeply committed to building upon this community's long-standing traditions and have big plans for year two. Read on to find out what we're cooking.
Thanks for being here for year one. Let's make year two worth celebrating.

Myklebust Named to the U.S. Women's National Team

Competition Recap: Cal Cup

Cal Cup returned to Moorpark over Memorial Day Weekend, and NorCal teams showed up. One of the oldest and most prestigious field hockey tournaments in the country, the event draws more than 125 teams across age and skill divisions from youth to masters, with international competitors and cash prizes in the Super Divisions.
This year's Super Women's field was exceptionally deep. The gold went to Team Osaka, featuring several Canadian national team players, with the Olympic Club Women finishing 7th of 10. In Super Men, San Jose Khalsa (this season's BAFHA champions) took silver, falling to Moorpark's own Bulldogs in the final.
The youth story of the tournament was Hayward Hawks. Six of their teams reached the finals, a remarkable achievement for any club. They claimed gold in U14 Boys, U12 Coed, and Mixed Social, silver in U8 and one U10 division, and bronze in the other.
For the older girls, NorCal Impact U16 Girls and SF Hawks U19 Women both claimed silver medals in their divisions.
Full standings are available at calcup.com.

Looking Forward
Congratulations again to the Class of 2026. As these athletes head off to play college field hockey at every level, we hope our entire community will be cheering them on.
Over the next year, Stick Together has some big ambitions: a high school invitational that allows athletes from across the region compete, a college gameday tailgate so fans can cheer together, and an annual awards celebration that recognizes the people who make up this community. If you'd like to help plan, organize, or run any of it, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out to admin@sticktogetherfh.com.
And as always, if you have news to share (a commitment, a tournament result, a camp worth knowing about) please email us. Stick Together is only as good as the community behind it.
See you on the sidelines,
The Stick Together Team
